e-bikes have been rolling for over 120 years!

The very first patent for a battery-powered bicycle was filed in 1895, and was followed in subsequent years by several variations
on electrically powered two-wheeled transport. Some of the ideas, such
as motors located in the crankset axle hub, are still going strong
today!
